The Chinook Observer welcomes all letters to the editor. In order to be published, they must be signed with the writer's true name and be accompanied with a phone number for verification. Please try to be concise; space limitations sometimes necessitate holding letters and shorter ones are more likely to be printed in a timely manner. Ordinarily, letter writers are limited to one published letter per month. Headlines for letters are written by the editor, but he welcomes suggestions. Letters may be edited for clarity, grammar and punctuation, but we always strive to preserve the writer's underlying meaning.
